You can simply test print online by pressing the printing button right on this page. This is great, because all you need for this test is a browser and printer connected to your computer either by Ethernet cable or direct USB link. Using Wi-Fi should also work, but it might require preconfiguration or driver installation for your printer model.

Either way, this is the most basic and simple method to run a printing test to see if your printer works and moreover, to check whether the printed page appears to have acceptable quality.

Please note, that this particular test is not tied to any specific printer manufacturer and model. Your printer’s manufacturer might offer more extensive testing material or recommend more complex tests for your cartridge types. This online printing test is based on CMYK (Pantone) color libraries making it universal and serviceable by most of the printer types.

This is the initial test I perform whenever I offer on-site printing troubleshooting assistance for an unfamiliar device. The primary advantage is that I don’t need to download any files or install drivers; I can simply conduct a test print online with a single click of my mouse.

How to use this test

Here are the steps you should follow to print test page online:

Check the printer manual: Before starting the test, it’s always a good idea to check the printer manual for any specific instructions and troubleshooting guides. It is also important to use compatible software and drivers that might be needed for online printing directly from your web browser.

Ensure the printer is in good condition: Before printing the test page, make sure that the printer is in good condition, with no clogged ink nozzles or other issues that could affect the print quality.

Use the appropriate paper: Make sure you’re using the recommended paper type for the printer test. This is usually specified in the test page instructions.

Check the printer settings: Set the printer settings to the recommended values specified in the test page instructions. This may include paper size, orientation, resolution, and color settings.

Look for any visible banding, streaks, or other anomalies: Not only color consistency, but also the lightness, darkness must be inspected. Also, take a close look at each printed shape. Some common printer issues tend to show up on a printed test page as streaks, lines overlapping or missing parts.

Could indicate issues with the printer: If you do find any issues, it could mean that there are problems with the printer itself, such as clogged nozzles, low ink levels, or other technical issues.
